A little about me...

I developed my passion for art from an early age, I have fond memories of staying in during 'break time' in primary school to finish my paintings!

Much of my artwork, both contemporary and traditional, is inspired by nature; serene and calming sunrises, the feeling of tranquility looking out at the horizon over a still sea; vibrant sunsets which provide an amazing gradation of stunning colours; all of which are created for just a brief moment in time; it is that moment which I like to capture in my paintings. I also greatly enjoy portrait painting (oil on canvas, people and animals) and creating fun caricatures, primarily from photographs, both very different in style but both requiring equal measures of observation and accurate interpretation, to create a unique and special work of art for the recipient. The pleasure in painting is all the greater knowing the pleasure it may provide for someone, somewhere...

It's in the genes...

Daniel, my son, born in 1985, has followed in my footsteps, he has a natural artistic talent, evident throughout his childhood when art became his favourite subject - through his own choice! Daniel progressed to become a partner of our art business in 2008.

Daniel particularly enjoys creating abstract works, mostly oil on canvas, using a bold technique and mix of colour to create lively and stunning contemporary paintings which make a bold statement in a room or area. Daniel says "I want my paintings to portray a strong sense of creativity so I place an emphasis on the blend, use and variation of colour, I also apply the paint heavily to achieve texture"...examples of which can be seen (and purchased) on the "Gallery" page. (Commissons in a similar style, with choice of colours and size of canvas, can be commissed through Christopher Andrew Art).

Daniel also has a talent for drawing detailed caracatures which capture his subject's features perfectly, an example being the pencil drawing of Arsene Wenger (Arsenal FC manager) on the "Caricature" page. (Orders for caricatures in pencil of yourself, partner, child or friend or favourite sports personality are completed by Daniel in a similar style).
